Before the project began we performed extensive keyword research to understand Invoca’s total searchable market, what competitors were doing to effectively rank for hundreds of thousands of keywords, and to loosely understand what on-site opportunities Invoca had that we would have to address.
These on-site challenges are things such as technical issues, user experience improvements, and indexation.
After we had a clear picture of the market landscape and unique opportunities we would be working on we proposed to build out 4 links per month and build a quarterly content calendar with content outlines, recommendations, and suggestions on how to rank higher with more relevancy. This plan focused on mapping out intent and keyword topics to all content types on the site, alleviating technical bottlenecks, keeping certain content from ranking as effectively as it could, and actively improving the structure of the site.
Immediately upon the project starting we met with the client for our initial strategy discussion where we aligned on content creation, website architecture changes, blog content creation targets and prioritization, and link-building target approval.
